New Agoura Hills State-of-the-Art Veterinary Center Treats Exotics and More

Veterinary Angels Medical Center (www.veterinary-angels.com) is a brand new state-of-the-art veterinary facility in Agoura Hills staffed by highly trained veterinarians providing medical care for dogs, cats, exotic pets, and farm animals.

Veterinary Angels Medical Center is a universal veterinary facility, as they provide care for all animals—not just dogs and cats but also birds, reptiles, small mammals, livestock, and zoo animals (horse care coming soon). “We are proud to have brought a progressive state-of-the-art medical center to the area. We have much that sets us apart from other veterinary clinics including the fact we treat a variety of animals.  We are also a one-stop-shop, providing wellness plans, a pet store, and an online pharmacy.  As a green facility, we are completely paperless, allowing our clients full access to receipts and records online,” said, Darlene Geekie - Owner, Executive Director, and Lead RVT.

Veterinary Angels Medical Center boasts two highly qualified veterinarians and a registered technician: Medical Director, Dr. Kerry Milliken, Associate Veterinarian, Dr. Stephanie Hengst and Practice Manager, Darlene Hernandez Geekie, RVT.  Dr. Kerry Milliken brings close to twenty years of experience working with exotic animals in the motion picture industry and as a former staff veterinarian for the Santa Barbara Zoological Gardens.  When Dr. Milliken is not treating animals at VAMC, she can be found working with wildlife rescue organizations, as a “set vet” within the motion picture industry, or providing care for private zoo collections.

Dr. Stephanie Hengst, co-owner and associate veterinarian brings a wealth of experience and in addition to treating all types of animals; Dr. Hengst will be teaching the animal nutrition class at Cal Lutheran this fall.   Darlene Geekie, RVT teaches the avian class at Platt College’s RVT program and will be speaking at the AHAA, AVMA, and Wildwest Conferences this year.

The team at Veterinary Angels Medical Center is active in the community, giving back through vaccination clinics and charity events such as Toys for Tots, Bowling for Rhinos, and Make a Wish Foundation. Recently, the Center participated in a vaccination and micro-chip clinic at Camp Bow Wow in Woodland Hills.  They are members of the Kiwanis Club and the Conejos Valley Chamber of Commerce, as well as the Calabasas Chamber of Commerce. “Please connect with us on our website for upcoming vaccination clinics and events we will be doing throughout the community in the upcoming months,” said Darlene Geekie.

Having just been opened for a few months, Veterinary Angels Medical Center was voted Best Veterinary Clinic 2013 by the Agoura Hills Reward Program.  The Center is located at 29348 Roadside Drive, Agoura Hills, California, 91301.  For more information about their wellness plan or to schedule an appointment, please call 818-865-1800 or visit www.veterinary-angels.com.
