This weekend we find some events to take you in and out of the 818.

When/Where: Through Sunday, January 22, Los Angeles Convention Center, 1201 South Figueroa St, Los Angeles.

Why Go: This is most comprehensive art experience on the west coast which combines the Los Angeles Fine Art Show: Historic & Traditional, the 27th Annual IFPDA Print Fair, and the LA Art Show: Modern & Contemporary offer 200 000 square feet of paintings, sculpture, works on papers, photography, installations, and video – over 130 prominent galleries from around the globe.

Northridge.

Why Go: This invitational showcases art work made by students from over forty San Fernando Valley high schools, including our NCJHS students, Benny Ferdman, Artistic Director, and Justine Bruner, AP Studio Art teacher. The work employs a variety of media, including painting, sculpture, ceramics, graphic design, illustration and photography. When/Where:  Saturday, January 21,10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., Lollipop Dream, 14006 Riverside Drive, Sherman Oaks.

Meet Beverly Hills Housewife Kyle Richards

When/Where: Friday, January 20 at 7 p.m., Barnes & Noble Thousand Oaks in the Westlake Promenade.

Why Go: Beverly Hills Housewife Kyle Richards will sign copies of her new book Life is Not a Reality Show: Keeping It Real With The Housewife Who Does It All.

Celebrate the Chinese New Year in Beverly Hills

When/Where: Friday, January 20, 6-9 p.m., 400 Block of Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills.

Why Go: The event will feature Chinese performances including a drum corps and lion dance, store and restaurant specials and activities throughout the Golden Triangle. Lladró boutique will unveil two unique versions of a new limited edition piece, Auspicious Dragon. The first 1,000 people to check in at the Beverly Hills Conference and Visitors Bureau table located near the Lladró boutique will receive a Good Fortune envelope. Several envelopes will include prizes valued at more than $200 each.
