Horse of a Different Color

The Healing Equine Ranch, nestled deep inside the Santa Monica Mountains, provides a unique kind of therapy.

Kiki Ebsen, daughter of famed actor Buddy Ebsen, has turned her family ranch into a magical place where healing a heart, a mind, a body, or a soul, is the order of the day.

The Healing Equine Ranch, which is nestled deep inside the Santa Monica Mountains, is a place where humans can interact with a group of rescued and rehabilitated horses as a form of therapy.

Known for her smooth sounding ethereal voice on dozens of records, including several of her own, Ebsen, along with Terry Carroll—both of whom are Certified Equine Specialists—have developed several programs to teach men, women, and children, about positive and negative energy and how we to use it in their everyday lives.

"These programs are designed to help people recognize current patterns of reacting and responding to just about anything, whether that be at work or in your personal life," Ebsen said.

The herd, which is what Ebsen lovingly refers to them as, provide feedback and inspiration through programs they have developed to address teambuilding, problem solving, communication, self esteem, leadership, and boundary work.

"The horses mirror our emotions and give honest to goodness reactions when they see you falter in decision-making," Ebsen said. "They teach leadership based on whatever energy you are giving them. They are unbiased and react instantly to whatever they see, feel, and hear."

Each program at the ranch is offered in four sessions, with a suggested donation of $140. For more information or to reserve your spot, contact Ebsen
