Teens Make a Difference at Annual Carnival

The fifth annual Kids 4 Kids carnival draws massive crowds Sunday at Willow Elementary.

Hundreds of people turned out Sunday for the Kids 4 Kids fifth annual carnival at . The fundraiser is produced by Jr. Variety, a subsidiary of Variety Children's Charity, an international organization created by the entertainment industry that provides assistance to abused, addicted, physically-challenged, neglected, and/or underprivileged children throughout Southern California.

Jr. Variety was formed by a teenaged Jeremy Forman, along with his father Scott, specifically for young volunteers who want to give back to those less fortunate. Since graduating from Agoura High School, Jeremy has passed the baton to younger sister Felicia, 17, who now presides over the organization with eight other teenagers.

The Kids 4 Kids carnival is their largest event of the year, Scott Forman told Patch last year. "At the end of this event, we will have raised over $200,000 for various charities," he said.

Companies representing the entertainment industry are the predominant sponsors; however, the Jr. Variety volunteers appealed to local sponsorship to donate as well.

Recipients of the money raised this year include both Willow and elementary schools.
