Temple Adat Elohim Jewish Disabilities Month Shabbat

Temple Adat Elohim invites the community to a very special Shabbat to celebrate Jewish Disability Awareness Month Friday, Feb. 24, 7:30 pm. Featured speaker is 8-year-old congregant Joshua Goldenberg who will chart his groundbreaking and well-publicized success in bringing braille to grocery stores shelves locally and nationally. The Shabbat service – led by Rabbi Ted Riter, Rabbi Rebecca Dubowe, a member of the Jewish Deaf Community, and Cantor David Shukiar -- will focus on ways to break down physical, communication, and attitudinal barriers, educate our communities on what accessibility and inclusion really mean, and reach out to Jews with disabilities. Temple Adat Elohim is a warm and welcoming community that invites diversity in its membership and programs, including its award-winning preschool, religious and Hebrew school.
