Meril Plazter's Open Gov't Premise

My name is Myron Altman. Bernice's husband. I recently found out that Meril Platzer is running for City Council. Her platform. The city council should not have closed sessions to negoiate contracts, discuss litigation or purchase or sell property. Imagine that each time a contract negotiation is entered into, for construction, litigation or gardening services or land sale or purchase, a public hearing is held so that citizens can help negotiate. The city attorney's advice is made public. That's why cities have closed sessions Ms. Platzer. You elect representatives to do the negotiating. You elect them because they represent you. Furthermore. I know that there is a consent callendar open to public comment, at which time you can make comments about signed contracts, or any other budget item. Have you ever done that? Voiced your displeasure at a meeting by paying attention to these items? I don't think so. Your reason is very wrong headed, and makes absolutely no sense. Open government doesn't mean public hearings on closed session items.
