'Happy Days' Don Most to be Reyes Adobe Days' Grand Marshal

Don Most, who portrayed Ralph Malph in the popular 70s sitcom 'Happy Days,' will be this year's Reyes Adobe Days grand marshal, the city council announced.

Don Most, who played Ralph Malph on the popular sitcom Happy Days for seven seasons, has been picked as this year's Grand Marshal of the Reyes Adobe Days (RAD) festival, being held from Sept. 30 to Oct. 2. The Agoura Hills City Council made the announcement at Wednesday night's meeting.

Most is a long-time Agoura Hills resident and an avid supporter of the arts, which will be featured heavily in this year's event, according to the council presentation. The theme of the festival, which will take place at the Reyes Adobe Historical Site, is "Then and Now" and will center around the arts in Los Angeles over generations.

The theme was inspired by Pacific Standard Time, a Getty Research Institute effort to build huge collections of the best L.A.'s art scene from the 1950s to today.

The festival will remain mostly unchanged from previous years, except for the addition of the RAD 10K, a marathon upgrade from the RAD 3K. The City Council said that 300 participants have already signed up for the longer race, which will begin at the top of Reyes Adobe Rd. and will wind its way south to the Western Town at Paramount Ranch.

Because of the length of the race, several road closures will be in place over that weekend. The largest closure will be the right lane of Reyes Adobe Rd. from Thousand Oaks Blvd. to Passageway Place, starting the night of Sept. 29. Other closure times and locations will be available on the city's web site.
