'Food Inc.' Gets Community Hungry for Change
The screening raises awareness for healthy eating and benefits Mariposa Elementary.
Even rain couldn't dampen the enthusiasm of the packed house Friday night at the Sumac Elementary School multipurpose room, where a screening of the 2008 documentary, Food Inc., was held to benefit .
In addition to about 80 movie goers, the event featured a guest panel of speakers and local health conscience food vendors. Panelists featured former aerospace engineer and physicist turned organic rancher John De Bruin of Dey Dey's Best Beef Ever, Lisette Marcott and Carol Beckton of Farmer Fresh To You, Margaret Delam of the Weston A. Price Foundation, Nicky and Dereck of Oasis Wellness and Michael, Sandy and Daniel of Bee Nice Honey.
