THREE MAGICAL MILES AUTHOR BRIAN ROONEY AT LADYFACE ALEHOUSE & BRASSERIE

What do the classic horror film “Frankenstein”, race cars, Elvis Presley and a 1926 one-room schoolhouse have in common?  They are all part of what makes the “Three Magical Miles” a very special place.

Brian Rooney, the author of the best selling local history book on the Agoura and Cornell area called Three Magical Miles will be signing books at Ladyface Alehouse & Brasserie on Tuesday, July 17th at 7:30PM.

The just released third edition of Three Magical Miles has over 300 photographs – mostly historical – ranging from the late 1800’s to the present day.  Hundreds of films and television shows set in Africa, Wales, China, the Old West and more have been shot inside the small circle defined as the “Three Magical Miles” centered around bucolic Malibou Lake. It may be the only community in California where a 1920’s schoolhouse and general store and 1940’s post office still stand and are in use every day.

Rooney will be making a dynamic visual presentation on the area that is rich in fascinating history, followed by a book signing.

“We are proud to support local artists and writers,” said Cyrena Nouzille of Ladyface Alehouse & Brasserie. “Projects like Brian’s Three Magical Miles help educate residents about the rich history of our area and promote the unique nature of the Agoura Hills and Cornell area. We hope folks will come and watch his presentation; it’s so much fun trying to figure out where movies were shot and what our town used to look like.”
