Ninth Annual New Music Concert with Michael Schelle

CLU’s Ninth Annual New Music Concert features the music of two-time Pulitzer Prize nominee Michael Schelle. Schelle’s works have been performed by more than 200 orchestras and professional ensembles across the United States and abroad, including the Chicago Symphony, Minnesota Orchestra, St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, XTET and Pittsburgh New Music Ensemble. Recent critically acclaimed international performances of his music have included Kammerorchester Basel in Switzerland, the Kremlin Chamber Orchestra in Moscow and the St. Petersburg Chamber Philharmonic in Russia, and the Contemporary Music Ensemble of Tokyo (CoMET).

Schelle has received composition grants from numerous prestigious arts organizations including the National Endowment for the Arts, the Rockefeller Foundation, the American Symphony Orchestra League, Organization of American States and the Welsh Arts Council. He is currently Composer in Residence at Butler University in Indianapolis.
