8th Annual Rebozo Festival

Las Madrinas del Rebozo of Ventura County will be presenting their 8th Annual Rebozo Festival at the historic Camarillo Ranch House, Camarillo, CA, on Sunday, May 20, 2012 from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm.

Las Madrinas, translated to “The Godmothers” are a growing group of 18 professional and retired women who volunteer year round by concentrating their efforts on raising funds for various Ventura County non-profit charitable organizations focusing on the cultural, social and educational needs of the community.

Proceeds from this year’s event will benefit the Heart 2 Heart program. The outreach program sponsored by the Ventura County Foster Parent Association works directly with foster children and foster and kinship care providers. Essential Items are provided to foster families in Ventura County to help meet the needs of their foster children. The Madrinas also contribute on a yearly basis to the United Way Women’s Leadership Council that supports young women leaving the foster care program at age 18. They also provide an annual Fiesta Patrias Scholarship.

 A highlight of the day includes a Rebozo fashion show featuring beautiful Senorita’s wearing colorful eye-catching Mexican Rebozos (shawls). Rebozos from the different regions of Mexico will be sold at the event.

The celebration will also include a live and silent auction, a “tiendita” store, entertainment by Trio Victoria and Las Senoritas Fiestas, Mariachi Aguilas de Mexico, and Grupo Hueyapan. The event includes brunch and David Cruz, a daily news-talk host on KTLK (1150AM) will emcee the event. Tickets are $35 and can be purchased at Downtown Sol, 328 3rd Street, Oxnard Ca.
