'Dancing With the Stars' Celebrities Strut Their Stuff in Agoura

Several performers from the hit ABC television show practice at Agoura Hills Dance & Performing Arts.

For the past eight years, celebrity contestants from Dancing With the Stars have rehearsed at the Agoura Hills Dance & Performing Arts Center.

Celebrity pairings like Derek Hough and Brooke Burke, Tony Dovalani and  Jane Seymour, Tony and Cheyenne Phillips, Maxim Chermofsky and Brandy, Damian Whitewood and Pamela Anderson, Peta Murgatroyd and Donald Driver, Tristan McManus have all graced the polished floors of the local dance studio.

And this year is no exception. When season 16 of DWTS premieres Monday night on ABC, viewers will have the opportunity to watch Cheryl Burke and DL Hughley and Peta Murgatroyd and Sean Lowe rehearsing their production numbers in Agoura.

"As always, I am beyond thrilled to have the pro and celeb from Dancing With The Stars do their rehearsals here at Agoura Hills Dance," said studio owner Betsy Melber. "It is my favorite show for so many reasons. The people are always wonderful, and to see the studio on the show makes us all very proud. I love the show's entire concept and when I see the progress these couples make week after week and how hard they work, I find it very inspiring."

Over the years, the studio staff have not been permitted to divulge the details about when and where the performers practice.

"It's part of a non-disclosure agreement we sign," said Melber.

Either way it is wrong and uses the race card as a "despicable stunt"

Not a hate crime at all. Just a very stupid kid trying to manipulate the system so he could beRead More granted a athletic transfer. One of the kids on the "hit list" was the perp. Really despicable stunt.

It is unfortunate that this incident happened at our local schools. The crime is a result ofRead More ignorance and lack of education. All members of our community regardless of their race, creed, or religion should be respected. Perhaps our community needs to introspect and see why this occurred and how further events can be prevented.

Thanks for your great perspective on this issue. We should all unplug once in awhile.

I think for the most part, people are mentally drained. Few take the time to sit back relaxRead More anymore. Even when we do have a minute to ourselves, we're constantly bombarded with emails, text messages and status updates. If we unplugged ourselves from our devices, we might find the serenity we all so desperately need. Turn your phone off, take a hike. Find a big tree next to a creek and sit under the shade. Enjoy nature. Listen to the sound of the water, the birds and the breeze as it moves through the brush. When you get back to nature, if only for a short time, you'll leave with a clear mind and feel revitalized. You're right---technology was supposed to make our lives more simple. Instead, it fuels the attention deficit disorder as our brain becomes a hashtag with a constant barrage of (often useless) news and updates. Although I'm young, I'd give anything to go back to the days where calling someone often led to a wild goose chase of finding an available payphone and spare change to make the call.

If you can't talk politics with friends without being able to agree to disagree or even end upRead More losing them as friends then they were not the "friends" you thought they were anyway.

It's not about moving forward, it's about saving your breath! That's the whole problem; too muchRead More talk and not enough action! You gonna eat that fish or just hold it up in the air?
Dave April 7, 2013 at 07:29 am
then again, if you only speak with people who agree with you, how do you ever move forward? aren'tRead More you just "spinning your wheels" staying in the same spot never moving forward?
