Celebrate Valentine's Day Early With European Cinema

Theatre Raymond Kabbaz in West L.A., a showcase for French arts, to offer Short Films Tour of European movies on Saturday.

Start celebrating Valentine's Day this weekend with selections of European cinema at Theatre Raymond Kabbaz in West Los Angeles.  

Get an early start this Saturday with the Eurochannel Short Films Tour, and view 10 to 12 shorts from a selection of European countries. This is the perfect opportunity for fans of cinema and European culture to discover the newest faces and perspectives of the European film scene. The event runs from 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m., and in European fashion, complimentary wine and cheese will be served at intermission. Admission is $15.

Next week, settle in for Cinelove: A French Romantic Movie Series, which plays for three evenings, featuring legendary French talent. All films are in French with English subtitles: Tuesday, Feb. 7: I Do ("Prête-moi ta main"). Directed by Eric Lartigau. Starring Alain Chabat and Charlotte Gainsbourg. Thursday, Feb. 9: The Woman Next Door ("La femme d'à-côté"). Directed by François Truffaut. Starring Gérard Depardieu and Fanny Ardant. Monday, Feb. 13: Love Me if You Dare ("Jeux d'enfants"). Directed by Yann Samuell. Starring Guillaume Canet and Marion Cotillard. All films start at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $5.

Theatre Raymond Kabbaz is a state-of-the art, 220-seat theater and part of the Lycée Français de Los Angeles—a nonprofit institution dedicated to the promotion of art and culture in Los Angeles. It is the only theater in L.A. to dedicate a significant part of its programming to the French language and culture. It provides educational shows and shows linked to francophone and international culture, and welcomes multidisciplinary and multicultural theater, music, dance, lectures and screenings.
