Agoura Hills Exhibit to Showcase 18 Artists

Local Artist, Jeremy Lipking, whose work has been purchased by such celebrities as George Lucus and Barbra Streisand, will present a special exhibit this Saturday in Agoura Hills.

Local artist Jeremy Lipking is hosting his second annual exhibit of his work and that of 17 other artists at his Agoura Hills studio on Saturday, according to a report in the Ventura County Star.

Lipking's oil paintings has attracted celebrity art collectors like George Lucas, Joel Silver and Barbra Streisand, said the Star. In addition, his piece "The Lonely Maiden" was at the center of the 2009 film The Maiden Heist, said the report.

Lipking said that last year's event attracted about 150 people, said the Star.

According to Lipking, a lot of the artists from the exhibition are extremely successful, citing Rose Franzten, who recently had an exhibit of her work at the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery in D.C., said the Star.

Pro, a Westlake resident who teaches at California Lutheran University, describes some of his work as mixed media combined with realism and will be exhibiting his piece "Carnivalesque" at the show, according to the Star.

Lipking said that most of the artists rarely show their pieces, so " there's really no other place to see this particular group of artists' work all in one place, especially in Agoura Hills," said the report.

The art will range in price from about $1,500 to $65,000, reports the Star.

The exhibit will run from 5:30 to 9 p.m. The studio is at 28233 Agoura Road, Suite A, in Agoura Hills. Call 818-451-7675 for more information.
