Triunfo YMCA Names New Program Director

John Napotnik takes over the youth program which serves Agoura Hills.

John Napotnik has been named the Triunfo YMCA's new program director. Napotnik oversees the Y's aquatics programs, summer resident camp on Catalina Island, and family, teen and sports programs. The Triunfo Y serves Agoura Hills, Westlake Village and Oak Park.

Napotnik grew up in La Crescenta and, as a child, was involved in YMCA summer camp, sports, youth & government teen programs and family programs.

"It was there where I met people who sought to make me a strong leader and lead a better life," says Napotnik. "Those same people also inspired me to seek a career with the YMCA."

While attending college at UC Davis, Napotnik interned for the statewide California YMCA Youth & Government program and took on more YMCA administrative roles in during summer and winter breaks. After college, he worked with children with emotional issues for the Los Angeles Unified School District while staying involved with the Y.

"We have just kicked off the school year with our Y-Trailblazers and Y-Indian Guides and Princesses programs serving over 400 dads and children in the area as well as our high school youth & government program," said Napotnik. "We also are gearing up to host the 1st Annual Goblin Gallop 5K and 1 mile run/walk in collaboration with the Westlake City Celebration on October 20th at the Civic Center."

"John's dedication to helping others and his YMCA experiences throughout his life are valuable qualities to bring to the program director position," said Ronnie Stone, Triunfo YMCA executive director. "We look forward to his ideas and contributions as the Triunfo Y grows and gets ready to establish a permanent facility in Westlake Village."
