Pizza Night

With cooler temperatures and rain in the forecast, why not stay in and order pizza?

Each Thursday, we feature Patch Picks, highlighting editors' and readers' top picks for great local businesses, destinations, services, organizations, ways to spend a day off and more.  On this week's list: A Family Pizza Night.

The forecast may call for chilly temperatures and rain, but don't let mother nature dampen your plans for a fun night. Whether it's for the entire family, a cuddle date night, or a group of friends hanging out, pizza is the ultimate comfort food. And Patch has found some tasty options in the area.

  • This locally owned and operated pizza spot has been serving up large, cheesy NewYork-style slices for years. Not to mention they have a full menu replete with Philly cheese steaks, great Italian sandwiches, salads, pastas and more than 20 different beers. Delivery is super fast, but remember they close at 10 p.m. Try the Meat Head pizza with ham, pepperoni, sausage and meatballs.

  • Want to get a little "hands-on" and make your pizza? Head to The Italia Deli for fresh dough, sauce, and mozzarella cheese. If you are feeling extra advanced in the kitchen, try making your own dough. Next go to and grab your favorite toppings. My favorite? Pepperoni, jalapeno and pineapple. This is a fun activity to do with the entire family or just with your little brothers. (as seen here)

  • This local pizza joint is owned by local Agoura resident Doris Corcoran and has been serving up traditional deep dish pizza for years. But don't worry, they offer thin crust, too. The sweet tomatoes that top their pizzas are absolutely delicious. Try the Margherita with fresh basil and mozzarella. They have a large menu with other Italian favorites, such as mozzarella sticks, sandwiches, salads and tiramisu. They charge $3 for delivery.

  • This restaurant featuring pizza and pasta is also locally owned. As cheesy and delicious as is their pizza, their calzones are my favorite. The BBQ Chicken is a must-try with cheese, chicken, onion, cilantro, and sauce all rolled into a "pocket of goodness". Their menu also features sub sandwiches, lasagna and pastas, buckets of chicken wings, meatballs and more! They deliver but require a $10 minimum order and charge a $2.50 delivery charge.

  • This restaurant is a Kosher-friendly Agoura favorite.  The menu boasts creative vegetarian and Kosher versions of Italian dishes like pizza, soups, calzones and a fresh fish recipe daily. Their menu is expansive and includes fried zucchini, greek salads, veggie calzones and plenty of sandwich options. Try the Mediterrenean Pizza with spinach, black onions, feta and black olives. Note: They are not open Fridays after 2 p.m. or Saturdays, but they do deliver when not honoring the sabbath.
