March 23: City Council Sets Goals, and It's Moms Day

1. The Forecast: Rain, 57

More rain on the way, mainly after 11 a m., with a high near 57, dropping to a low of 40, according to the National Weather Service. The forecast calls for calm wind becoming south-southeast between 5 and 10 miles per hour. The chance of precipitation is 80 percent.  Tonight, showers are likely before 11 p.m., then becoming mostly cloudy.  Winds will be south-southwest between 10 and 15 miles per hour.

2. City Council Meeting & Goal-Setting Workshop

There will be a special session of the City Council at 4 p.m. in .  Officials will be discussing the Council's short and long-term goals. The public will have an opportunity to comment. Persons wishing to speak should submit a “Speaker’s Card” to the City Clerk and limit testimony to 3 minutes. The regularly scheduled meeting will follow at 6 p.m.

3. Meet Actor Doug Jones

Actor Doug Jones will talk to California Lutheran University students and the community at 7 p.m. as part of the "Conversations With … " series. Jones specializes in science fiction and comic book characters. The second in a series of informal discussions with actors on their craft will be held in the Preus-Brandt Forum on the Thousand Oaks campus. Actor, writer and director Markus Flanagan, who teaches at CLU, will be the moderator for a one-hour talk followed by a question-and-answer session with the audience. Donations will be accepted. Proceeds will benefit the CLU Theatre Arts Department. For more information, call 805-493-3415.
