Mallory Lewis of Malibu is keeping her mother's work alive with her live performances with Lamb Chop, the loveable sock puppet.
"It’s wonderful. I greeted with love everywhere I go. It’s such a blessing. It’s the most fun ever," Lewis said.
The character, made famous on television by children's entertainer and ventriloquist Shari Lewis, will appear this week to perform "Lamb Chop Loves America" at the Ventura County Fair, which runs from Aug. 1-12.
Lewis said she considers Lamb Chop her sister, and that the sock puppet interacts differently with her than their mother, Shari Lewis, who died in 1998.
"Lambchomp is the same she’s just relating to a different part," said Lewis, who produced her mother's show "Lamb Chop's Play-Along, which ran from 1957-2000.
Lewis, along with her 13-year-old son, enjoy their life with Lamb Chop in Encinal Canyon.
"We’re a regular Malibu family," Lewis said.
