Independence Day is a federal holiday in the United States commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, declaring independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain, according to Wikipedia. Today, our country is celebrating its 235th birthday.

The annual Janss Marketplace event begins with live music and fun activities for the whole family, including face painting and bounce house, at 4 p.m.The fireworks begin at approximately 9 p.m.

4. July 4th Fireworks Spectacular at Calabasas High School

The City of Calabasas hosts the community’s annual 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular. Gates open at 5 p.m. and the fireworks show begins at 9 p.m. The family-oriented, fun-filled event will offer live music from Stone Soul, featuring the best of 1960s Soul & Motown classics, a free family fun zone with a balloon artist, rides, crafts, games and the grand fireworks display.
