Haunted Mansion Opens in Agoura [Video]

Take a tour of The Canyon Club's Haunted Mansion for some good causes...if you dare.

Be afraid. Be Very afraid. The Haunted Mansion attraction is now open at The Canyon Club and it promises endless thrills and chills.

For the very first time, the Canyon is offering a haunted house-themed production to raise money for three not-for-profit organizations.

"We decided to do this instead of an office party," said show organizer Wes Faria of Trans America Financial Advisors. "We wanted to take a different route and do some good."

Faria's company office in Agoura Hills teamed up with the concert venue to benefit GirlsinPower.org, WhatCanWe.org, and KidsMarathonFoundation.org.

"We tried to hit a variety of great organizations," said Faria.

The theme of the attraction is "Asylum" and approximately 40 volunteer actors will cycle through the show to scare visitors.

"We wanted to make the haunted house more psychological rather than the traditional ghouls and goblins," said Faria, who has a background in movie special effects.

Professional make-up artist Nadia Hatter is doing original creations for the show (see above video).

The tours run through November 1 and admission is $21.

Faria said he hopes to make it an annual event. "This is the test, but, yeah, I'd love to [do this] every October," he said.
