FAMILY BEST BETS OF THE WEEK
1. Rockin' Tots - Mommy n' Me Music Class
- Where/When: Thursday at 9:15 at in Agoura.
- Why go: In this interactive music based class, kids will kickstart learning through music, puppets, dance and more! Free play at Jungleland following this hour long class.
- Pricing: 9+ months, 1st child $9, 2nd child $7, each additional child $6. Reservations are required.
- Ideal for: Families with babies and toddlers.
2. Catch the Latest Kids' Film
- Where/When: All week, varying times at the Agoura 8 or Edwards Grand Stadium in Calabasas.
- Why go: It's an easy effective way to entertain the kids for a few hours while you get to munch on junk food. Rango starring Johnny Depp and Mars Needs Moms 3D are good bets.
- Pricing: Varies from theater to theater, but try to go to a matinee to save a few bucks.
- Ideal for: Families with children of all ages.
3. Leprechaun's Lucky Gold Hunt
- Where/When: Thursday, starting at 4 p.m. at the Thousand Oaks Community Center.
- Why go: Celebrate St. Patrick's day with crafts, carnival games, a magic show, food and more! At 5 p.m. kids set out on a hunt for plastic gold coins that can be turned in for prizes.
- Pricing: $5 per child, pre-register through this website.
- Ideal for: Families with children of all ages.
4. Kidfest 2011
- Where/When: Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Conejo Creek Park.
- Why go: Geared towards kids of all ages, Kidfest combines a community expo, dog-agility show, DJ, train rides, rock wall, food ... the list goes on and on!
- Pricing: Free
- Ideal for: Families with children of all ages.
5. Kid Friendly Dinner and Entertainment
- Where/When: Tuesdays, 4:30-7:30 p.m., the Sagebrush Cantina in Calabasas.
- Why go: Take your kids out for a night on the town. My Gym activities from 4:30-6 p.m., this week's feature event, Break Dancing Show, from 6-6:30 p.m. and a kids' disco from 6:30-7:30 p.m.
- Pricing: Kids 12 and under eat free with the purchase of an adult entree and all activities and entertainment are on the house.
- Ideal for: Families with children 12 and under.
