Gas Prices Now at Highest Amount Since March 2013

That's 7.4 cents more than just one week ago.

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose today to its highest amount since March 21, 2013, increasing 1.1 cents to $4.151.

The average price has increased seven consecutive days, including 1 cent on Wednesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price is 7.4 cents more than one week ago, 17.5 cents higher than one month ago and 10.8 cents above what it was one year ago.

"Traditionally, gas prices tend to rise in the spring before peaking sometime in May," said Jeffrey Spring of the Automobile Club of Southern California.
