2nd Oak Park History Night

2ND OAK PARK HISTORY NIGHT TUESDAY NIGHT

Harry Medved, Harvey Kern, Derek Ross, and David Ross invite the community to the 2nd Oak Park History night Tuesday evening (July 12th) from 7 to 8 p.m. in the Film and Lecture Room of the Oak Park Library.

These four Oak Park residents are capturing the history of our community for publication in a forthcoming Arcadia Publishing "Images of America" book, to be released early in 2012, about the 45 year history of Oak Park.

The first "History Night", 2 weeks ago, brought many Oak Park veterans who shared stories and photographs of the early days of our 45 year old community.

Tuesday night's gathering should prove extra special, with the planned attendance of Molly Jordan, granddaughter of Jim and Marian Jordan ("Fibber McGee and Molly"), who owned and ranched on the land on which Oak Park was built. An audio clip from their famous radio program will be aired, along with brief screenings of other Oak Park area movies, such as "Firecreek", with Jimmy Stewart and Henry Fonda, and "Little Big Man" with Dustin Hoffman.
