Agoura Hills Neighborhood Raises a Stink Over Dead Fish

Hundreds of fish have been dying in Lake Lindero in Agoura Hills following an algae bloom.

A cleanup was underway Tuesday, but the stench has some neighbors calling it a "cesspool," NBC4 reported.

“I would just ask homeowners to understand that this is something we are trying to address,” Gold Project Lindero President David V. Smith told NBC4.

Lake Lindero was dredged earlier this year, stirring up nutrients in the water. That and the warm weather resulted in an algae bloom, which depletes the oxygen in the water, killing fish and other life.
