5 Things You Need to Know Today: Jan. 3

A middle school reopening, call for hometown heroes, and tips on making those resolutions stick make the list.

  1. Happy Monday. We hope you had an eventful New Year's, Agoura Hills. If you missed anything on Patch between Dec. 27 and Jan. 2, check out our . 
  2. School is back in session. Over at , about 1,000 students will return from winter break to a renovated campus that includes a new science facility, media center and classrooms. The $32 million project incorporates energy conservation technology. Check back on Tuesday for our photo gallery.

With the new year, Agoura Hills Patch wants to know: Who this past year made the biggest difference in your life and why? We're looking for that neighbor, that friend, that special someone you and others always can count on to do the right thing, lend a helping hand or inspire you to achieve things you never thought were possible.   4. We all make well-intentioned resolutions for the coming year, but many often fall by the wayside, because we just don't know how to actualize them. Well, Susan Pascal has dedicated today's About Town to is here to getting those resolutions to stick.
  5. Don't put away your umbrellas just yet. Rain will continue to pound the Agoura Hills area until about 10 a.m., according to the National Weather Service. Temperatures are expected to remain in the 5os throughout the day, with northeast wind around 10 miles per hour.
