1. The Forecast: Sunny & 77

If you think that's warm, get ready for a weekend in the 80s. For Friday, the National Weather Service forecasts a high near 77, dropping to a low around 38 in the evening. Northeast wind will remain between 10 and 15 miles per hour. 

2. DUI Checkpoint

Personnel from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Risk Management Bureau will be conducting a DUI/DL Checkpoint on Friday, from 6 p.m. until approximately 2 a.m. Traffic volume and weather permitting, all vehicles may be checked and drivers who are under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs will be arrested, according to Detective Daniel A. Dail of the station.

Friday marks the final day of the week-long event at , culminating in an assembly and purple dress-up day in preparation for the school's first Relay For Life on May 21. On-campus festivities included purple face paint and hair spray, henna tattoos, and ribbon dancing. 4. School District to Discuss State Budget

The Las Virgenes Unified Finance Committee will be meeting at in Calabasas at 2 p.m. to discuss the state budget, as well as review proposed cuts and early retirement. Superintendent Don Zimring anticipates that the Supplemental Early Retirement Program (SERP), offered to veteran teachers, will save the district between $450,000 and $475,000 next year.
