Southeast Ventura County YMCA Adds Six New Board Members

The Southeast Ventura County YMCA, serving Thousand Oaks, Newbury Park, Westlake Village, Moorpark, Santa Rosa Valley, Agoura Hills, Oak Park and Simi Valley, has added six new members to its board of directors. Members serve three-year terms.

 

New members are Alex Castillo, assistant vice president/relationship manager in finance and accounting at Wells Fargo Bank, Mark Leaf, co-owner of Signature Signs, Inc., Chris Blanton, certified special needs advisor at Merrill Lynch,  Dan Friedlander, real estate and land use attorney, Alec Yarbrough, trusts and estates attorney with Kenneth E. Devore & Associates and Bryan Murray, former Triunfo YMCA program director and now with St. John’s Healthcare Foundation.

"Every board member is committed to seeing that the Y provides the best services to Y members and that our Y branches play an active role in fostering healthy communities," says Rick Politte, president and CEO of the Southeast Ventura County YMCA. “The next few years will be exciting as we continue the fundraising and eventual building efforts of the new Triunfo YMCA facility. We also have big plans for our other Y branches.”

The Southeast Ventura County YMCA has been serving Ventura and Los Angeles counties since 1964. It includes three YMCA facilities (Conejo Valley YMCA, Simi Valley Family YMCA and the Miller Family YMCA in Newbury Park), one community-based branch (Triunfo YMCA), preschool childcare centers and before- and after-school childcare sites. Each branch features health, wellness and fitness classes, youth programs, swim and aquatics classes, camps and community special events.
