The 58th annual Conejo Valley Days (CVD) is being held May 8 through 11 at Conejo Creek Park South (Janss Rd./23 Freeway) in Thousand Oaks. The festival will take place a week later than in previous years.
“We had the opportunity to secure the services of Ray Cammack Shows as our new carnival and midway operator,” says Frank Akrey, CVD president. “Cammack Shows is considered one of the premiere carnival ride operators in the country and it’s bringing its biggest and best carnival rides to CVD. The soonest it could get to Thousand Oaks and set up was after our traditional dates. Fortunately, we were able to open a week later.”
Cammack Shows http://www.rcsfun.com/ provides rides for such events as the Los Angeles County Fair, Orange County Fair and the Coachella Music Festival.
“We’re excited to have Cammack Shows here and we know festival goers will be in for a real treat when CVD opens,” says Akrey. “Their rides are fantastic, some of the best in the country.”
In addition to carnival rides, CVD will include food booths operated by nonprofit organizations, motocross exhibitions, outhouse races, games, vendors, a Kids’ Korral children’s stage sponsored by Eureka Organic Bread, a “Garage Band” stage to showcase new local bands and live entertainment in the Golden Horseshoe Saloon.
CVD hours are Thursday, May 8, 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., Friday, May 9, 5:00 p.m. to midnight, Saturday, May 10, noon to midnight and Sunday, May 11, noon to 8:00 p.m. The Lucy Pet Foundation (http://lucypetfoundation.org/) is the nonprofit partner for this year’s Conejo Valley Days.
