Mayor William Koehler, inspired by the local volunteer support Agoura Hills receives from residents for many of its civic events and projects, suggested the city initiate the program which other cities have successfully adopted. “There’s a lot of hometown spirit in Agoura Hills. Having a Community Service Day is a great way to meet other residents, acquire community service hours and enjoy the benefits from making things a bit nicer around town,” said the mayor. Community Service Day will become an annual event.
