The banner that read: "Coming Soon: The Habit," raised this summer on the corner store location at the new Shops At Oak Creek, was a welcome sign for Agoura Hills. And now, the burger chain's familiar logo sign is in plain sight. 

Wondering when you will be able to swing by and enjoy one of their famous charburgers? Well, after a discussion with the Irvine-based burger chain's corporate headquarters, Patch is ready to set the record straight.

What is The Habit Burger Grill?

The casual chain restaurant opened with one location in Santa Barbara more than 40 years ago. The eatery quickly became known in the community for its original "charburgers," fries, shakes and malts, which lead to an expansion throughout the southern and central California regions.

When can we start to feed our craving for The Habit's famous charburger?

If you have already visited the Shops at Oak Creek, you have probably noticed the daily progress made on The Habit's interior and exterior.   The menu board is already up and the inside and outside tables and chairs are on their way in as well. Completing their part-time team will round out the preparation for their opening. One of the only other things still missing is the smell of their mouth-watering food.

The Agoura Hills location is scheduled to open to the public in early November.  Until then, you will still have to drive to the nearest location in Thousand Oaks.  

Does this mean that there are jobs available?                                         

Ten more positions need to be filled to round out the staff. The Habit is in search for part-time cooks and cashiers for a starting wage of $8.50-$12 hourly, depending on experience. The location's District and General Managers will be conducting interviews on site Oct. 18-22. An application is required and can be picked up any time at the box outside of the front window.

Does their menu offer anything other than burgers?

Indeed. As tastes evolved as quickly as The Habit expanded, so did their menu.  They now offer a large variety of grilled sandwiches and premium salads, as well as a kid's menu. They even have a few items suitable for vegetarians. 

The Habit Burger Grill is located in the Shops At Oak Creek at 29145 Canwood St. and is planning an early November opening.
