Enjoy a Bit of the Blarney at Agoura's Newest Watering Hole

Brendan's Irish Pub & Restaurant invited local officials and the community to its grand opening Monday evening.

Having a hankering for some bangers and mash; maybe some Irish stew with a lager of Guinness? Now there's an authentic Irish pub at which to enjoy these Old World delights.

Local officials and the community at large gathered for the official ribbon cutting ceremony and grand opening of Brendan's Irish Pub & Restaurant Monday evening.

"We're excited about the community of Agoura," said Brendan Searls, pub owner. "We didn't think [Agoura] had what we think is the essence of a pub ... we think we can fill that void and we're excited to be here."

The establishment now inhabits the former Pikey's Pub off Canwood Rd.

Originally from Cork, Ireland, Searls came to the U.S. in 1985. He currently operates a Brendan's in Camarillo and has plans to open a chain of restaurants, he said.
