Community Invited to First Time Ever Whizin's Holiday Event

For the first time, businesses located in the newly renovated Whizin Market Square will offer day-long holiday festivities following this year's Santa Comes to Agoura.

This year's annual Santa Comes to Agoura, held at the Do It Center on December 1, will be followed by a holiday event that promises fun for the whole family.

For the first time, local businesses in the newly renovated structure have joined forces and organized the 'Whizin Holiday Fare'.

"The revitalization of Whizin Market Square was always accompanied by a
vision of the area becoming an active community center," Leslie Brenner, co-owner of Hugo's Restaurant, wrote in an email to Patch. "Many of the businesses came here with that in mind, so even though the renovation isn't complete, it was easy to take the next step of combining our efforts to become that community center we want to be by creating 'Holiday Fair.'"

According to Brenner, the event was a logical step.

"Since Santa is going to be next door, it just seemed like a perfect time to throw our doors open to the community with the same spirit of giving that the
community is showing," she wrote.

Samantha Kinkaid, owner of Yoga Everyone, is one of the event's organizers. "The revitalization of the Square is an investment in Agoura," she said. "These local businesses look forward to welcoming [everyone] at the Holiday Fare on December 1st."

Blue Table, Hugo's Restaurant and Wood Ranch are all putting out holiday
tasting tables and Tifa Chocolate & Gelato, which is moving into
Whizin's sometime in January, will give away chocolate and gelato.

"Each business is participating in it's own way," according to Brenner. "For instance, Yoga Everyone is offering to drop-off yoga classes and activities for
the kids, as well as a 'Holiday Haven'–relaxation/meditation/breathing–and a Yoga Blend class for frazzled adults."

There will also be entertainment, gift tables and raffle prizes.

The event kicks off Saturday, December 1, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Whizin Market Square.
