Bella Donna Rocks Chumash

The Stevie Nicks tribute band steps in at the last minute at the summer's final show in the city's Concert in the Park series.

Disaster in Agoura Hills was narrowly avoided when local Stevie Nicks tribute band Bella Donna stepped in to replace Fleetwood Mac tribute band Rumors at Sunday's Concert in the Park, the last in the summer series.

"We got the call Friday," said lead singer and Stevie Nicks doppelganger Michelle Tyler. "Apparently, someone in the band Rumors was sick and they had to cancel. We live in Oak Park, so it was easy for us to step in. Their misfortune was our good fortune."

It was lucky for the residents of Agoura Hills as well. Young and old alike sang along and danced in front of the stage to hits such as "Rhiannon," "White Winged Dove," "Landslide" and "Gypsy."

"I can't believe this is Plan B," said attendee David Allen. "This band is great."

Lisy and Marty Schwartz, Agoura residents for more than nine years, came to the concert for the first time with two of their three daughters.

"I can't believe we've lived in Agoura for so long and this is our first time coming to Concerts in the Park," said Lisy Schwartz.  "We just always seem to be busy or traveling in the summer, but today is my birthday and next week is my daughter Evie's birthday, so we thought we'd come here to celebrate."

The Schwartz family brought a picnic dinner purchased from Angel Café to enjoy while listening to the music. Food from Italia Deli, Wood Ranch Barbecue and Taco Bell could be seen spread out on picnic blankets and card tables throughout the park.

Michael DeGiosa of Italia Deli was in attendance with family and friends.

"We always get a big rush right before closing on Sundays," he said, "and we've noticed the rush is even bigger when there is a Concert in the Park."

Z Pizza and Shave-It were once again on hand for people who preferred to purchase their food last minute.

During intermission, attendees browsed the handcrafted jewelry of Monica Nabati, whose shop is in the Whizin's Shopping Center Arcarde, and the free-flowing paintings of local artist Sheila Fein. Both booths were a preview for the Art Walk at the city's Reyes Adobe Days, set to take place Oct. 1-3 at the historical site.

As the evening grew dark and the mild summer temperatures dropped even lower, the crowd pulled out sweatshirts and blankets to keep warm while people swayed to the music.

"I wasn't planning on coming, but I was driving by with my daughter and we heard the music and saw everyone here," said Marisa DeFalco. "This is a really nice way to end the weekend."

After the band played its last song, audience members reluctantly folded their blankets and said their goodbyes to family, friends and the last concert of the summer.
