A Colorful Culmination

fourth graders performed their end of year production, integrating both Judaic and general studies.

"It is the only integrated 'culmination' we do at our school," said Ellen Brennglass, fourth grade general studies teacher.

The play was written using the songs from Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat to tell the story of the pioneers coming to Israel and California, said Brennglass.

"They share much in common, including similar regions," said Brennglass, who wrote the words to the songs, though program credit was given to Andrew Lloyd Weber.

Two major scenes, written by Bat-hen Zeron, the Judaic/Hebrew teacher, illustrated the arrival of immigrants as well as activities at a typical Israeli market.

"It was the first time this culmination has been performed at Ilan Ramon Day School and was met with roaring reviews!" she said.
